[Other] ooma can't port number

Hello, So I've heard lots of good things about ooma and decided to get it. I was just hooking it up and doing some research online and on ooma website they have a service to check if your number is portable. And it turned out that mine is not. It never even crossed my mind that my number may not be portable prior to getting the system. This is definitely a deal breaker for me as I don't want to lose my 20 year old number. So just wondering if there's a work around for this issue or if I should just return it and stick with my landline provider? I live in Canada if that matters. Thanks.
