:(I have been with PhonePower since 2012 and have been very happy with their service. I have the Unlimited plan (although I rarely go over 500 min a month) We use our cellphones primarily. PhonePower has always charged $3.02 every month for various taxes and fees. About a year ago these fees started to increase slowly now, this month the taxes and fees have just increased to $7.01 a month. I am paying $9.99 for the unlimited BYOD plan and $7.01 in taxes and fees for a grand total of $17.00 a month. I think I will go to another provider. I could get rid of this line altogether and just use our cells but I have had this number since I was 22 years old (1983) and I would like to keep it going. PhonePower claims these taxes are legit and there is nothing they can do about it. I think they are lying. Vonage and Ooma do this same thing I think it is another way to make extra money and hide them as required govt taxes. here is the breakdown: Regulatory Recovery Fee $2.97 911 Cost Recovery $0.99 STATE SALES TAX $0.96 COUNTY SALES TAX $0.37 WA STATE 911 SURCHARGE $0.25 KITSAP CO. 911 SURCHARGE $0.70 FEDERAL UNIVERSAL SERVICE FUND $0.34 FEDERAL COST RECOVERY CHARGE $0.28 LOCAL UTILITY GRS RECEIPTS TAX $0.19 TOTAL $7.01 I know I know with my low usage I could do better with a PayGo plan I prefer to pay a plan rate with a fixed monthly charge. I am looking at anveo for Obitalk (since I have an Obi device) it includes a phone number + unlimited minutes incoming + 1000 minutes outgoing + e911 + many features for $7.00 a month. Their website states "includes all taxes" the whole service is only 1 cent less than I am paying PhonePower just for taxes.
