I just got a smartphone for WIFI browsing, but would like to add a VoIP option. It's an unlocked Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 with 4GB RAM. I don't intend to get a sim card for it since data is very expensive here in Canada. I also don't intend to get a Google account.
I use Callcentric at home and could entertain getting another number from them. It's cheap, enough regardless of the fact that I would likely not make a call every week. It appears that their Android app is only available on the Google Store. Is there some other way to use Callcentric on an Android phone?
If somebody has any other suggestions or advice for VoIP on mobile WIFI, I'd be interested.
