[Equipment] Common or popular 2-port and 4-port ATA?

I'm wondering if anyone else here is using the Cisco SPA-112/122 (doesn't seem to be) and if not, is there a consensus as to the most reliable, bullet-proof, sip-scanning-proof (ie no vulnerabilities, can withstand sip scanning without falling over, etc) 2-port ATA. And is it just me, or is it crazy to expect the cost of a 4-port ATA to be roughly twice that of a 2-port? (but instead I see they are much more than a factor of 2). And by 2 ports, I'm talking 2 FXS ports. I need to buy another 2-port ATA (or replace my current 2-port with a single 4-port). At $50 each, the SPA-112 is a great price, but I'm spooked by the experience I've had at home with 2 different such units (at work, those same units have not shown the same behavior). The 112 can be set up to send out a copy of the logs via email, but they way it does it is via a TLS connection (ie it issues a starttls during SMTP negotiation) and my office internal email server doesn't do tls). I'm not going to set up a syslog server (never done it, don't want to waste my time learning how, devoting a system to do it, paying for electricity use of another system, etc).
