Any VOIP providers that provide free PSTN calls?

I recently started looking into Voip devices to use with my Google Voice account, soon I found the OBIhai but when I looked at the price it was going for, I was horrified. I searched and searched until I found a Voip device that wasn't going to cost me my life savings. Soon I found the Linksys pap2 going for $13 on ebay! I said "Oh okay, I'll go ahead and order it..." It's firmware version was 1.00.13, don't know if that's the latest or not. I set it up pluged everthing in and got a dialtone! I tried dialing a number (but it's obviously not going to work) so I looked online to see how to get Google Voice to work on this thing. Absolutely no useful information at all. Everything was either outdated or completely false. Then I thought, "huh I don't even need to USE Google Voice at ALL." So I looked online for other free Voip providers...FOR 26 HOURS STRAIT! NO SLEEP NO JOKE! I ended up being so tired I fell asleep on my desk and didn't wake up until 9:35 today when I wrote this! There wasn't ONE free Voip provider that offered free US PSTN calls. It was either "You can use this service to contact other blah blah customers with the same blah blah service, to call traditional phones pay us the money you and your family works their behinds off for, for 3 years." I got so sick of hearing that. What is so hard about providing free PSTN calls, Google Voice can do it so why can other providers do it?! I bought this Linksys Voip adapter so I could avoid paying extra bills entirely! Not pay even more money! I'm at my wits END, can somebody please help me out? ANY HELP AT ALL IS GREATLY APPRECIATED! Thanks in advance. ;)
