I have a customer comprised of 7 users/phones with 800 number being ported. I have a request to voip.ms to port the 800 number. I explained to voip.ms the absolute need to be notified when the number became available/released from "losing carrier". So that I'd be able to keep customers with minimum down time and be able receive calls on 800 number The number now does not work (busy signal) though it's not officially finalized/ported. I was not informed by the "tech support" that this may happen, i.e. non-working number while porting process is being finalized. I can't believe the guy, didn't let me know during discussion about porting that there may be a "limbo" where number won't work untill fully ported. Had I been informed of this I'd have told customers to inform callers to expect 800 number to be down and call another number. Is this common during porting 800 numbers? thx.
