VOIPo Possible Nagging Problem Solution

I have been with VOIPo for over a year, a refugee from Teleblend. Their service is great but I have suffered from periods of blackouts from almost day one. VOIPo customer service is outstanding and responsive but, when you are talking to tech support often enough to ask if their kid got over the ear infection or did they buy those new tires, you have been spending way too much time with them. When my service was down, sometimes a simple power cycle of the Grandstream 702 would restore it. I was doing this a couple of times a week immediately following my wife announcing that "the phone doesn't work AGAIN". However at times, the remote services of VOIPo were required, and my presence on this end. This sometimes went on for hours. At one point, VOIPo declared that my Grandstream was faulty and sent out another one. Things were good for a couple of days then went bad again. They tried everything-port forwarding, putting it in the DMZ, looking at I photo I sent to them that proved the ATA was not connected to house wiring, reinstalling the provisioning, etc. I was at the point of giving up and seeking another VOIP provider. Then inspiration (or the margarita) lit up my brain. I was using the same power supply (wall wart) from day one. VOIPo did not send out a new one with the replacement Grandstream. In my hours of discussions with tech support, the only power supply question that they raised was if the power LED was lit (it was). What did I have to lose? I dug around and found a compatible supply, the old Teleblend one no less. Also, I'm not sure if matters, but the Teleblend supply is rated at twice the amperage of the Grandstream, 1amp vs. 500ma. Anyway, I connected it all and went to sleep. Next morning the phone was WORKING. And the day after that, and the day after that, etc. It has been a month now with NO outages. This is the longest stretch of uninterrupted service since I signed up with VOIPo, by far. So I decided to push the envelope further. I moved the Grandstream from its direct connection with the FIOS router and just connected it to a port on my home office switch, off of the DMZ and no port forwarding. It worked great and is still trouble free. I did notify VOIPo of these developments as a courtesy. Their response was that they supply the manufacturer recommended power supply.
