Medicare-related spam calls

This is more of a rant and an alert rather than a request for help. ----- I have a family member who will be eligible for Medicare soon and we have been SWAMPED with calls wanting us to sign up for Medicare supplement insurance. These are SOME of the numbers the calls have come from, over a period of just a few weeks. 12562164583 18156601702 13312091464 13125983122 17086770091 19402940290 16186533304 15804534344 15804534344 18474649152 12052704111 18727722042 13088883025 15394449310 17012485593 12282269035 13092450599 15152987452 12562164584 16304631642 14053478934 12702624316 18622037444 16012283705 16062032678 18488001116 15634122607 12252401600 13096106230 14053317178 15634122605 16094210311 13852312385 13196488063 18302403612 17323079096 19133477376 18156601699 13092450598 16099575604 12622050693 17152272893 18776617174 17152272894 13088883022 19564485401 15312016100 19202149098 17012485575 13852007198 12816019611 18704329502 15022008406 18704329504 15634122603 17738871079 12622051227 16413167534 17132587897 15803076648 16622148680 18594951082 19202149101 13342039443 16183628292 13192384266 17324126349 16087138642 12816019358 13312091463 16012283678 13202011529 18722819097 13016349930 12143960034 17326271219 12242369714 17012485578 12512358635 12622050694 17152402177 14053894198 13196488064 15152987458 12252401700 12512358636 16304631643 17692238327 17086770094 15312015800 12017314897 18473830685 13125983121 13852312369 16062032677 19202149089 15512584178 19132703872 17122014565 17122014560 17738871082 17329723181 17326082931 16186533321 19182191886 12542842719 19403021051 18137513053 Now, SOME of these calls may be legitimate, from insurance brokers and other 3rd parties trying to sell potentially lucrative Medicare supplement (Medigap) policies. But even IF legitimate they were unrelenting (as can be seen!) While OTHERS might possibly be identity theft situations if they involve some bad guys trying to harvest social security numbers etc. ----- Most of these calls were blocked by my provider's use of the very good TrueCNAM service, but not all, which is not a surprise as these services have a tough job. As far as NoMoRobo, I manually look up those numbers on NoMoRobo and MANY of these numbers were NOT flagged by them at the time. So while NoMoRobo is good, it is not perfect. ----- Again, I'm just bitching here because I just was interrupted by another fake call: "This is the Department of Social Security, we have just suspended your number...." :(
