I downloaded and installed this app on Google Play and chose a really good vanity number and tested it out. It seemed to be fairly stable and useable so I decided to pay for a subscription in order to ensure that the number could not be reclaimed for lack of use plus a few other features.
I've been paying $5.29/mo. for a year or so for these benefits but yesterday when I went to open the app on my phone, it said my local number had expired and to choose a new one. What!!!
I immediately contacted textme support and was told that I did in fact lose my number and it had been reassigned to someone else and there was no possibility in reclaiming it.
The reason why: They claim my subscription had expired on July 5th and after a seven day grace period they reassigned it.
I responded back that my subscription had definitely not expired or been cancelled and in fact July 5th's payment was made and scheduled for renewal on August 5th.
Haven't heard back from them and doubt I will.
Is there anything I can do to reclaim that number or am I SOL?
Should I contact the FCC?
I really didn't want to lose that number hence the reason I paid $5.29/mo.
I can't imagine doing this to a paying customer.....
