[General] Lingo (lingo.com) residential VoIP customers left hanging.

Lingo ceased USA residential VoIP service May 31 2019 and left their customers hanging without service (including 911 service). Their "locked" linksys 2102-R ATA (telephone adapter) device did *not* work with the company they handed off to, Impact Telecom (impactconnect.net) The story: I was a long-time lingo residential VoIP customer, since 2007 when sunrocket folded. My final monthly bills were $13.27 incl all fees and taxes. (in the last months, the bills came from Birch Communications) On 5/31/2019 VoIP service stopped working. I've been communicating with impact telecom support since then, and the final conclusion is the ATA can not work with their VoIP service. Indeed, to me the device seems firmly locked (bricked) even after factory reset. Impact Telecom did not offer a free replacement ATA. They wanted $50 + shipping. So, this is a warning how Lingo Communications and Birch Communications treated their customers. And I seek advice if any wish to comment: Why do I not see any VoIP offers to former lingo customers? Aren't thousands of other customers in the same situation? Why doesn't lingo make amends and post: here is the admin password to our linksys 2102-R ATAs? I mean, what do they care? Keeps all these devices out of the landfill. So now I need to switch VoIP providers. Any thoughts on providers and/or telephone adapter devices most welcome. I'm residential, light use in/outbound. Else I'll peruse these great forums and posts. I suspect matches to "voip review" web searches may be taking me to sites sponsored by the providers themselves... Thanks.
