Hi all,
I've been using OneSuite.com's SuiteAdvantage VoIP service for over a year. In the first 12 months, calls were flawless: good sound quality, not dropped calls. However starting since early March 2016, I've been experiencing the same problem with at least 50% of all my calls: after a few minutes of conversation, outbound audio stops, the remote party hears nothing but silence, and eventually we have to hang up and redial. Happens to both inbound and outbound calls.
I tried doing an experiment with a friend: we start chatting, and if my friend cannot hear me, we just keep the call going (and babbling) to see whether audio gets restored. For about 90% of these cases, outbound audio does not resume even after a minute of waiting (and babbling). Has anybody else experienced the same problem?
My bandwidth=6 Mb/s down, 2.4 Mb/s up (measured here with SpeedTest)
ATA=Cisco SPA2102
I've had some suspicions about upstream network congestion, but with the bandwidth I have (problem happens even if nothing else is using my bandwidth), and the low-bandwidth used by VoIP, I doubt it can be this bad.
Thanks for any advice!
