[General] codecs to allow on NATIONAL Uk number

I have a national UK DID on anveodirect. They allow me to choose to allow any or all of G.711a, G.711u, and G.729. The UK DID will go to an outbound trunk that is either a voip.ms or Callcentric sip URI. It will then go to a USA PTSN after going through my IVR, etc. I understand that N America uses G.711u and the UK uses G.711a (I think?). My issue is I want to make sure that a UK cell phone user (or traditional phone) would be able to successfully enter DTMF digits the entire way through the process (even after being sent to the USA PTSN). Any suggestions on what to allow of the three codecs, and then would voip.ms or Callcentric be better to route it to based on supported codecs there? Sorry if I was not very clear. I am newer to VoIP for international, though have been successfully using anveodirect, voip,ms and Callcentric for years for North American DIDs, etc. Thanks!
