A few months ago, VOIP.MS set their voicemail system to avoid false
indications of new messages by telling it to disregard messages
shorter than 2 or 3 seconds. (I think that the setting is minsecs=3
on their Asterisk servers.)
Now I notice that the problem is back. They told me that the
minimum-duration setting caused some other problem, so they
removed the setting. That's all I know.
This setting is valuable to my small business clients who I've
put on VOIP.MS, and they're unhappy about the change.
In general, VOIP.MS seems open to suggestions. So if any of you have
a hunch what the problem might be, please reply to this thread and
I'll forward suggestions to VOIP.MS.
And maybe one of the VOIP.MS reps on this forum can provide
more info.
