Before anything else, I use corded phones only (currently via magic jack), and use Win-XP.
But since with MJ - Caller ID is a no-show, I'm considering GV.
so...I've bought an OBI200 approx. 2 weeks ago & didn't open the pkg yet.
I'm also a natural Non-techie, so hope I can pull off setting it up.
As for now, I have preliminary Qs re: GV prior to registering:
Does anyone know if "globalist" Google can detect my name via voice recognition software
and then link name (J Doe) to my J-Doe name which I posted to my contacts via my Gmails... and my Gmails, in turn, are linked to my YouTube posts (thru IP harvesting)?
Also - for privacy - can I use any fake phone number to set up a Gmail account for GV registration?
or does GV make a test call to you, similar to email verification, thus ruling out that option?
If not, how does one get hold of a fake phone number?
Is setting up the account at local library an idea? Any other ideas?
