For those unaware it appears that MMS (picture messages) are not commonly a thing on Voip DID's. You might ask, "what are you gonna do with pictures on a SIP device" ?
a1. It would appear that MMS is required to receive group text messages. This means incoming group text messages would be lost, and is of concern for people using VoIP as a full replacement for a cellular DID.
a2. Send them to an email address or have a web portal.
Now of course MMS is not a priority by any stretch, but as usual, the absence solutions at any price point (does anyone other than GV offer it?) creates annoyance tingles for me, so I raise the question.
background question, I see zoiper has an sms option, how could I tell what voip carrier could support this natively? Is it any good? Vs. having a separate app.
