I should probably know this but it's been so long since anyone's asked that I'm a bit out of touch. If someone (NOT a business or commercial customer) wanted standalone VoIP service over VoIP, without the ability to make any other outgoing calls or to receive incoming calls, what would be the best option? I know Obihai has some kind of deal with Anveo to provide the service for $15/year (assuming the price in their blog post at http://blog.obihai.com/2014/08/easy-emergency-911-calling-service-with.html is still in effect) but I assume Obihai gets some small cut of that and in this case the user would probably not be using an Obihai device anyway, although they could if it were necessary. They just happen to live where cell phone reception is really crappy and want to know if there's a way to have reliable e911 in an emergency.
