Hi peoples. To those who recognize my name (and that I havent responded in months) just been super busy, haven't had a chance to catch up with previous postings but I promise I will within a month or so when I have time to sit down and read more. :)
In past a few times I was posting questions about setting up an ultra low budget (generally nonprofit related, so no money moving around to afford much) call center. (generally to a mixture of mild ridicule and saying I needed more budget than what I had) Still slowly working on that and that is still one of the future expected uses of the hardware.
I was wondering if anyone who has experience with the Cisco/Linksys SPA1001 FXS VoIP phone adapter could tell me the ups and downs, the good and the bad, what I should expect to pay (in single or in lots), what it works with (I guess i'm assuming/hoping its everything but just being sure), whether there are any things to watch out for (I remember hearing of some adapter having super low quality chinese knockoffs existing, is this one of those and how would I tell? etc).
Feel free to suggest alternatives "at least as good or better" from both a quality and value perspective. I'm 99% sure i'm getting it anyway but i'd like to know what to consider for the future. (FWIW I consider the Obihai adaptors sort of a higher tier adaptor for my use - of which I already have a model 202 I think it is/its not in front of me but the 2 line model) I'm wanting to expand my 2 lines to 4 and this is my first step up.
I am planning on buying two of these adaptors to start with and test for a period (before considering any more or other models), am just wondering what to keep in mind while shopping. :) Any feedback or suggestions welcome...
