Hi,
On my Polycom IP phone (IP650) I can't get G.722 to work unless I disable all the other codecs.
Even if it put G.722 as 1st in the phone's config, it will use G.711 ("HD " Icon absent on phone display). If I remove the other codecs to "force" G.722, well then, of course my lines/SIPs that don't support G.722 (e.g. VoIP.ms) won't work at all.
As per Polycom's infinite wisdom, codec choice is cannot be set on a per-line basis.
Is this behavior common on the PBX/provider side of things? Is it because the far end caller doesn't support G.722, it's trying to force me to 711 to avoid transcoding? Do they force 711/729 if offered, even if 722 is available, unless you force 722?
