I'm working with a reseller, and one of the numbers they've assigned to a business customer of ours is being spoofed in some kind of scammer campaign. This has rendered their phone service pretty much useless - all staff is engaged in answering or dumping calls from the scam victims. The reseller was able to verify that the inbound complaint calls they see were not ever dialed from this customer (meaning, the customer is not hacked, the customer is not originating the scam calls).
The answer we have from our reseller as to "what can we do" so far has been "nothing".
I understand they can't control spoofing, but I don't quite buy that there's absolutely nothing to be done about it. FWIW, the reseller is on the Broadsoft platform.
Any insights on this?
