Well, I'm absolutely sick of the constant (10 or more per day!) spam and telemarketing calls to my grandparents' home phone service, which I currently have setup with MagicJack at a nice $35/year. Nomorobo doesn't support MagicJack, so I've ordered a Linksys PAP2T off eBay and am switching the service over to VoIP.ms.
When they had TWC phone service (which offers Nomorobo), the actual amount of minutes they used per month had to be less than 100. Literally all the phone is (legitimately) used for is calls from their doctors to confirm appointments and calls to order a pizza/pay the credit card bill. I'd want to say 50 minutes per month, but I'm wanting to be liberal with my math and say 100 (combined inbound and outbound).
Where I get confused is the pricing listed on the porting tool at VoIP.ms' site. I'm wanting to do the per minute plan, which shows this:
"$0.85 per month / $0.009 per minute"
So, if I understand correctly, that implies a base charge of 85 cents per month, plus an additional $0.009 for every minute of phone calls, correct?
That would lead me to believe the total cost would be 85 cents per month, plus 90 cents (0.009 x 100), for a total of $1.75 per month. Add in E911 ($1.50 per month), and we're at $3.25 per month.
Sound about right? I thought I had read somewhere that inbound and outbound calls are billed at different rates, though. Not sure.
